Ex-River City star Gary Lamont is packing up Robbie’s rollers and hair tongs and is picking up a few celebrity pals and talking his critical acclaimed fringe show ’Dropping The Soap’ with Gary Lamont on the road. Times are tough after leaving the smash hit Scottish soap and poor wee Gary is down on his luck and needs help finding a new job with help from his celebrity pals. Watch as hilarity ensues. ”The standout show of the 2016 Fringe”Greenock Telegraph After Lamont won the Scottish public’s hearts after playing River City favourite quick-witted hairdresser. He decided to make a name for himself as Gary Lamont, not Robbie. In his hilariously funny and charming new show ’Dropping the Soap’. Where Lamont’s reveals a tell-all about what life like before he began in the ’river city’ soap but most important promises to give you a great night out. Filled to the brim with the crazy borderline self-deprecating stories and guaranteed to put a lasting smile on your face.

After major success at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival with rapturous reviews and audiences selling out as a firm favourite at the festival. Lamont is taking his firecracker of a show out on the road across Ayrshire to a town near you. As a boy from Castle-milk, I can only assume that he would be more than happy to see his show reaching other audiences that it couldn’t reach major cities like Edinburgh and events like the Fringe. You can be assured that your night will see all of the amazing factors of Gary  Lamont's star-studded persona. Showing off his extensive talent for theatre and showmanship. Lamont got his start in the theatre and in recent years, he has headlined the major UK tour Grease and cabaret shows where he shows off his pipes and dazzles the audience with his leading man material.

He has also tried his hardest to pantomime getting the audience dancing away their dignity -for all the right reasons- Making people forget their worry and troubles for a night is this mans calling. Finally, he’s taking off the mask of a character and he is showing us the real Gary Lamont, which in my opinion needs no shield or barrier.

Maybe just a sensor warning! ”Who needs a soap when you've got buckets of charm, hilarity and song like Gary”Graham Norton

It's not just the addictive personality and entertainment value of Lamont your getting, Oh no he’s roped his pals into joining him. Including one of Britain’s best-loved chat show host Graham Norton. Pop royalty Claire Richards from newly reformed band ’Steps’. Angelic voice of PM’s secretary Martine McCutcheon with may more A-listers in his phone book willing to join. Bringing this show to smaller venues and towns across Scotland will hopefully inspire young people to come back to theatre. Sadly this trade of thespians is dying due to the wonders of the silver screen and mass movie producing. If we are not careful hidden gems like the Palace Theatre in Kilmarnock will be lost in a world where movies depict life as a filtered reality with an airbrushed path, we are in desperate need more than ever before for a resurgence in local theatre. It's been proven and showed time and time again that kids and young adolescents without a creative outlet like theatre and the arts are less likely to gain a stable job and progress to further education. Kids today don’t want to be looking at textbooks. In a world fuelled by the power of social media, memes and gifs they crave a more interactive way of learning and theatre in the very answer to that plea. Yes, shows like Gary’s may not a grant a world of knowledge but it grabs the attention of young minds and inspires kids to do the same and makes them sit up and listen. I'm sure the palace theatre cannot wait to play host to Lamont’s new show. The theatre has previously has benefited from household names coming and performing there, like Jason Manford and Kevin Bridges. Hopefully, Gary Lamont would be a great addition to The Palace Theatre to have in their repertoire of performers. Hitting venues across Ayrshire between Kilmarnock to St Andrew's and much more with tickets ranging no higher than 15 pounds ahead. How could you possibly say no to this? Tickets are selling out but there is still time left to get them. For more information please see Gary Lamont, s facebook link down below. Find your escape from the outside world and step into the pure unadulterated magic of Gary Lamont’s universe. So get your self-dolled up, hit the town and get ready to laugh your face off for an hour to two in the company of Gary Lamont with his hit new show. ’Dropping the Soap’
